May 2018

April 2018

In this edition we discuss the Social Security (Scotland) Bill, looking at the amendments passed to enshrine accessibility in the legislation and the benefits which will now be administered by the Scottish Government.

We also take a trip to the Guide Dogs Training Facility in Forfar, and meet some of the amazing dogs and their trainers on our tour of the facility.


March 2018

In this edition we discuss the Rehabilitation Workers’ Professional Network conference; exciting developments in the treatment of Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD); the new registration process for people over the age of 16 with vision impairments in Scotland; dates for your diary from around the vision impairment sector; and, much more.

We also have a special feature on short tennis at the Forth Valley Sensory Centre. The SCOVI team took a trip to the centre to find out more about the classes, and had a go themselves wearing a variety of glasses designed to simulate vision impairments.
